Description

Meet the Trader Tour

Mimo’s Meet the Trader Tour is the chance to really get behind Borough Market stalls and meet some of its larger-than-life personalities: the traders. This tour is perfect for locals wanting to experience their neighbourhood market in a new way.

Every month, Mimo will invite a different trader to lead this experience. Through their eyes you will discover the history of the Market, the stories behind the produce on sale as well as insider tips, tricks and recommendations.

As well as hearing about their stalls, you will get the chance to visit some of their favourite spots in the Market, sampling food along the way. Discover what lengths traders have to go to sell in the Market. Hear about life as a market trader – from the work that goes in off-site sourcing or producing their wares, to the day-to-day realities of running a stall in one of London’s busiest markets.

This is a unique opportunity to have your burning questions answered  by those on the inside whilst enjoying tasty treats from Market stalls. The experience finishes at Mimo London Cooking School.

AUGUST 30 / FEATURING Neal’s Yard Dairy
Neal’s Yard Dairy was founded in Covent Garden in 1979 by Randolph Hodgson and was one of the first retailers to set up in the empty warehouse spaces around Borough Market in the 1990s. It continues to offer a truly stunning array of cheeses sourced from around 70 specialist cheesemakers all over the UK and Ireland. Many of the cheeses are aged in Neal’s Yard Dairy’s own maturing rooms under the brick railway arches of Bermondsey, where they are carefully turned, brushed and washed until they ripen. Join us for a private tasting at Neal's Yard Dairy to learn more about the company’s history and cheese offering and finish at Mimo London for snacks and wine pairings.
