Our Off the Beaten Track Pintxo Tasting Tour winds its way through the more local neighborhoods of San Sebastián, for a day of eating and drinking unlike any you’ve ever experienced. You will try a variety of pintxos, crafted at the hands of chefs who are rising stars, from a few of the classics to dishes designed to showcase the best of the season. Come thirsty, too, as we’ll be pairing each pintxo with red wines, white wines, and Basque cider.

Janelle is a destination specialist who comes to Mimo with over a decade of experience at top DMCs, designing and operating bespoke luxury trips all over Spain and Portugal. She spent the last 17 years living in Madrid and was drawn north to San Sebastian for the sea, the food, the people and the txakoli, not to mention to become a part of Mimo.
Originally from Minnesota in the USA, she came to Spain as a Spanish student and soon after started to devise a plan to return long-term. She traded the long winters and has been living in Spain, drinking in the sun, sipping the wine, and nibbling on the food ever since. She loves traveling around both Spain and Portugal looking for unique experiences and learning about the traditions, local cuisine and wine. She is always on the lookout for special experiences to offer to her clients, great restaurants and charming hotels. Her chosen career fits her perfectly, being able to spend her days sharing her understanding of and love for her adopted country.
When not in the office, she can be found seeking out new flavors, wine tasting, cooking, working in her garden in San Sebastian, and swing dancing.
