Eneko's passion for the culinary world began at a young age, in his family's restaurant Buenavista, which sits perched atop San Sebastián's Mount Igeldo. These formative childhood years have stuck with him forever, but it doesn't hurt that he has Irizar blood running through his veins. His uncle, Luis, is one of the godfather's of modern Basque cuisine. Eneko studied at his culinary school and forms the 5th generation in the family of chefs.
Eneko has worked across the best kitchens in Basque Country, from Arzak to Akelarre to Urepel, where he cooked for nearly eight years. He spent nearly a decade traveling through Asia, where he learned a variety of cuisines and techniques, before returning to his home country. When he's not in the kitchen, you'll find him in the ocean, surfing and swimming.
